Established in 1981, Certified Learning Centers (CLC) is the only full-service educational support agency serving the entire Maryland, Washington, DC, and Northern Virginia areas.  We specialize in Speed Reading & Reading Comprehension courses, Staff Efficiency Training, Corporate Training, Study & Organizational Skills, Computer-Based (CBT) Training, Learning Management Systems, Effective Writing (including specialized Military and Government classes), e-Learning Applications, and One-on-One Tutoring, which you or your children can receive right in the comfort of your own home!

We offer "live" (on-site) versions of our small group programs throughout the entire Metro area, and we provide both specialized online and CBT versions accessible to students throughout the world. Government and military personnel can perfect their briefing, memo writing and effective listening skills with CLC’s professional skills-based courses. A number of peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated the link between higher education levels, greater reading efficiency, and proficient organizational skills with higher income levels, and CLC guarantees the intensive, experienced instruction that will enable all our clients to achieve educational and /or professional excellence, no matter what their needs.

Created and Run by an Educator:

The founder and Executive Director of CLC is Patricia M. Felton, B.S., Elementary Education; M.Ed., Special Education/Learning Disabilities. She is also a Certified Reading Specialist at the Advanced Professional Level. Before founding CLC, Mrs. Felton taught in the Maryland and Virginia public school systems, working both in classrooms and as a resource specialist, and she has been involved in individual instruction for more than 37 years. And while at CLC, she has spearheaded a number of highly successful small group programs, including Speed Reading & Reading Comprehension, Effective Writing, SAT-I Prep, and Study & Organizational Skills (both grade-level-specific and an adult-level course).

CLC addresses each student's needs, and it employs approximately two hundred and fifty Maryland, Virginia, and DC certified teachers, tutors, Board Certified Educational Psychologists, and Certified Educational Diagnosticians to help provide support for students at all grade levels, as well as adults.  CLC is especially attuned toward the distinct needs of the learning disabled, special education, and gifted and talented students, but we believe that all students will find CLC a welcoming environment that fosters will help them achieve their educational and training needs.
