Study and Organizational Skills
More important sometimes than what you learn is how you learn. After all, if you know how to organize, study, and recall information as a general rule, you have the fundamentals necessary to approach any type of material, no matter what the subject or level of difficulty.
That's the premise behind CLC's Study and Organizational Skills program. Endorsed by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), we offer this 15-hour class in 2 formats: /> Grade-specific, for elementary through high school students Adult-level
Diagnostic Tests performed at the beginning of each course allow students to determine their current inventory of study skills, as well as their most effective learning style(s). School- and/or work-related documents and scenarios reinforce each of the skills covered in the class. In addition, a specialized software program helps translate the information into a practical course of action. COURSE TOPICS FOR BOTH LEVELS INCLUDE: Learning Inventories, and Using Learning Strengths Time Management Listening, and the Basics of Discussions Learning From Your Reading, and Taking Notes Preparing For and Taking Exams Understanding and Improving Your Memory Whether for school or for work, better organization translates into greater success.
